UCSD Eudora Agreement

Buy Eudora

ACMS sells low cost, right-to-copy licenses for the Macintosh and Windows versions of Eudora. We will continue to distribute the final full featured commercial release of Eudora for Windows, MacOS X, and Mac os 9, as long as we have additional licenses to distribute.

License Costs

Each machine running the software must obtain a license at the following rates. The pricing described below is for systems contained within a department and may not be shared between departments. The discount will be based on the total number of licenses obtained from this program held by the department regardless of the year the license was obtained. For the purposes of these licenses, a department is defined as an academic department, an administrative unit, an ORU, a program or project, etc., as listed in the current UCSD Telephone directory.

1 to 10 copies are $25 each.
11 + copies are $20 each

Maintenance is no longer offered.

Eudora and the Future

Eudora development as a separate product at Qualcomm has ceased. The Qualcomm Eudora team is now participating in bringing the Penelope project to join the Eudora user experience with the Mozilla platform Thunderbird base, to create a open source version of Eudora. You can install the work in progress, but it is not ready for production use as of 7/2007.

See Eudora's official announcement for more.

Ordering Conditions

ACMS provides a receipt for each system licensing software under this program. This certificate will legitimize the software in the event of an audit. The license agreement allows distribution to most UCSD affiliates whether or not the computer is University-owned. Faculty, staff and students in a degree program are eligible. ACMS only distributes this software to departments; not to individuals.

Manuals

The built-in help has most information users will need. The electronic distribution has a PDF version of both the complete quick start guides and the full manual that you can read or print out. That is the complete manual.

Media

We provide access to the current Eudora software. This is typically a file that you download from our server.
