UCSD Filemaker Agreement
This agreement provides low cost access to Filemaker software licenses
and media. These are only available to UCSD departments for use on UCSD-owned
computers. ACMS only distributes this software to departments, not to individuals.
Support is not included through this agreement. Media and manuals ordered through this agreement often takes 6-8 weeks to arrive. You may buy the first license at the bookstore to obtain media, manuals, and support and then buy additional licenses through this agreement. As of August 2003, license codes we provide do work with retail media. (This may not apply to the Filemaker Pro Server product, as it is individually serialized.)
Certain license codes are ordered from the vendor with our next monthly or quarterly order. This may take quite some time. Some (notably Filemaker Pro Server), but not all, Filemaker products are affected by this.
Payment must be made with IFIS index/recharge numbers. We add a $20 transaction fee to each Filemaker order.

Modifications to Filemaker Agreement
The release of FileMaker Pro 5 added special terms for our contract only for version 5.
(a) Notwithstanding any other terms in your OLA Agreement, you may not use the FileMaker Pro 5 software with a client or guest which substantially duplicates the capabilities of FileMaker Pro or, in the reasonable opinion of FileMaker, Inc.., compete with FileMaker Pro. Furthermore, runtime version of FileMaker Pro developed with developer version of File Maker Pro may not be guests of the Software.
(b) Notwithstanding any other terms in your OLA Agreement, when deploying the software for hosting non-FileMaker Pro clients, you are permitted to host up to but not more than ten guests (e.g., IP addresses via the Web Companion) or other API connections (e.g. ODBC, JDBC, Apple Events or ActiveX) on a rolling twelve hour schedule. You are further prohibited from using the standard version of FileMaker Pro with any middleware, application server, CGI, or other software or technology that allows more than a single client to access any FileMaker Pro database.
Media and Manuals
Disk and DOCS sets, where available, can be ordered up to the number of licenses purchased through this program. Disk and Docs sets do not include support. Some manuals or disks may be available separately with license purchases. Some of these products may be downloaded over the network from ACMS Software Distribution.
More About Versions
Filemaker updates, maintenance releases and system enhancements are typically available only electronically and generally are found on userserve in the vendor support folder, or the UCSD Site Licensed folder, depending on the terms of distribution. This includes anything past the first decimal point
in Version update in Filemaker applications (eg Filemaker Pro 4.0v2 where anything past the v is an update).Upgrades (versions to the right of the decimal like filemaker pro 4.1), require either a license upgrade purchase, or a new license purchase. Many of these licenses will also be available from ACMS Software Distribution.
License Certificates
ACMS provides a receipt for each system licensing software under this program. This certificate will legitimize the software in the event of an audit.
Contacts
ACMS can only provide very limited technical support on these products. Additional support is available either in 10 incident packages or as an annual product.
